Hole 10: Kirkjuhóll

Not long. Never simple. On Brautarholt the sea, the rock and the wind are the defence, and they change their minds every hour.

The makers

Laid on the land, not carved into it.

Icelandic architect Edwin Roald routed the course around the edge of Músarnes to meet the sea as often as the land allowed. Michael Kelly shaped the original holes onto the rock and water rather than flattening them. Since 2022 Tony Ristola has shaped the newest holes by hand, heading north along a ridge of ancient basalt.
